Here a possible Explaination if you used the upsizing wizard in vfp 5 or 6 this is a known MS VFP issue

This is an excerpt from knowledgebase article Q221666. Im still not sure why it worked for SQL 7 though, maybe servicepak 3 is installed on your machines and not on your client's


You use the Visual FoxPro SQL Server Upsizing Wizard to upsize a database to SQL Server. You select the Save Generated SQL option in step 7 of the wizard. When the generated SQL code is saved to the Script.dbf file, the memo file Script.fpt will grow to a very large size. This may be on the order of hundreds of megabytes. Issuing a PACK MEMO on Script.dbf will cause the size of the memo file to be reduced by a factor of about 1000.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this
article.

This bug was corrected in Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 3.
