I suspect that Bill was referring to VFP6's sllooowwwweeeeerrrrrr screens/refreshes, which would be apparent from the git-go as opposed to a slowly deteriorating condition.

VFP 6 has numerous *important* fixes in the ServicePak 3, recently released by MS (as well as some new stuff too).
