Hello, i am new to VB (5) and need help

Screen.MousePointer = vbHourGlass

This doesn't change the mousepointer when hovering over the screen, Also when a modal form is displayed the mousepointer has changed to the hourglass when over the form, not over the screen, I thought this was meant to be the other way around?
