Hi Ed,

While no one can argue your statement in the general case, just HOW is the developer to be "aware" from what the documentation has to say about the subject??? S/he cannot until they come across a place like this.

I also wonder about "sophisticated" (especially before NOFILTER came along) when a simple command could provide a variable result with *NO* indication of any kind. That sound more bush-league than sophisticated to me.

>IMHO, it gives Fox & Rushmore reputation of sophisticated technology. I think Erik is 100% correct in his reply: a developer should be aware of what he/she is doing with data and apply different ways in appropriate form.
