Why are you populating the combo in the drop down even? Is it because its contents dynamically change depending on the grid row that is active? If this is the case you will probably get better results resetting the combo's RowSource in the combo's when.

What is the combo's RowSourceType? What is its RowSource? What is its controlSource?
