FWIW: One other thing not mentioned by Todd or Evan's responses -- Do you have a "ON SHUTDOWN" set somewhere? If so, you can also add "ON SHUTDOWN " (nothing) to clear that. Maybe an errant ON SHUTDOWN referring to a missing 'thing' is just hanging your system...
