>I use the default grid (.columncount=-1) and apply different views to control the columns that appear in the grid. This is fast and seems to works well for what I am doing. The problem is my users want to sort the grid on the fly by clicking on the header. This is easy to do if you define your columns at design time but I have yet to figure out how to do it at runtime.

I know my framework does it somehow... off hand (I didn't write the code) whats wrong with the headerclick event (if there is one). You add it to the grid at desgin time even if you add your columns at runtime. Then determine if the column.controlsource is an index, and set order to. A common feature to add is multiple clicks toggles Ascending and Descending.

I'm not at a computer with VFP but I thought the functionality was there. David, Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'll check tomarrow.
