>Here I'd heard so much about this Universal Thread. OOOhhhh. "You can get all the answers you want". "These guys really know what they're talking about". That's all I've heard for ages. So I post one simple question about using 16 Bit Drivers in VFP 5.0 environment and you all run away. Not one reply! So I'll try again.

Sorry we were not adequate for your purposes. Perhaps you'd do better hiring a knowledgable and competent consultant who's omniscient (and I'm sure you'd prefer not paying for his time) to handle the little issues that are beyond the unworthy efforts of the VFP community here on UT.

I think you've missed the entire point of UT; the people here are not being paid to provide technical support from Microsoft. By and large, we're contributing our time and knowledge gratis. You can try calling Microsoft on this; I'd recommend making a priority technical support issue of this; it will cost you a few hundred dollars for a definitive answer this way, but it will be definitive and authoritative.

Unfortunately, I doubt that the free first-line technical support is not going to be of great help to you beyond a simple yes or no, and exploration of the topic in detail will cost both time and money.

When you find a better source of information about VFP than is available on UT, I'm sure we'd all like to hear about it; until then, good luck with resolving your problem.
