The view designer is limited. Erik Moore uploaded an enhanced View Designer you can download from the files section. Here's it's description and name:

eView
Utility for editing and maintaining views that are too complex for the view designer. Form based interface offers access to many features that the native view designer does not.

Otherwise, if you open your view in the View Designer, right-click and select show-sql, and then copy the SQL statement and post it here (in a follow up post to this thread), then we can help debug it.
