When I first encountered OOP, what struck me was how similar it was to SP, not how different. A lot of the same concepts, though in some ways referred to differently.

Maybe we have a new way for writing up a resume:
BS Programmer 1974 - 1977
Last "Go to" (COBOL not FP) - 7/77
SP Programmer 1977 - 1997
OOP Programmer 1997 ->

Boy that's a long time when you really look at it!
