i contemplated the replies i had received and it seems that the application needs to get out of its 2.x roots. my approach was basically to use the old code and plug in the vfp where the 2.x stuff did'nt work anymore. it seems i am trying to force the issue with the old code and am continually hitting a brick wall.

already as far behind as i am on my deadline i need to rethink this and use the vfp as the primary and 2.x secondary. So, Jim if you are reading this i would appreciate your input too.

so i guess heres the question. If you are continually requesting large amounts of user input(not a data entry type form, ie say & gets), that runs through involved processes what would the approach be?
