George,

My reply, and prior review of the UT's wish list, was in the context of the delivery of VFP 6.0. And yes, it was form scroll bars that was the other then.

Frankly I am delighted to see that there has been an improvement since then. Maybe something woke the VFP team up. But I suppose there could be any number of other rationalizations as to how those improvements actually came about.

In any case, I will try to keep my feelings on the matter to myself. I would point out though, in my defence, that I suggested that Walter go right ahead and submit a wish. I simply told him I wouldn't be, for the reasons cited.

And, as Bruce suggested that his might really have been a fix (and it sounds like it to me), so I would categorize 'multi-threaded DLLs' (we thought that was what we were getting the first time around), 'better ADO' and 'better ActiveX support' similarly. At best we seem to be at around 7 of 103.

>>Acxtually George, I think it was two. The only one that comes to mind is one where someone asked for (the equivalent of) _ACCESS/_ASSIGN. But I know there was another which could be argued was delivered in VFP 6.0

>Well, Jim, I took a bit of time to check this out. I omitted anything that has been requested since the release of VS to MSDN Universal subscribers. Here's what I came up with, besides the _Access/_Assign and Bruce's request: Native scrooll bars in forms, data session class (SP3), better ADO, multi-threaded DLLs (SP3), EXE Information (via AGETFILEVERSION()), better support of JPGs, GIFs, etc., and better ActiveX support.

>I must admit that I didn't check out every wish. Some, in fact, simply asked for stuff that already existed. I think it's sufficient, however, to say that, given the above list, what made it in there was more than two or three things.

>The point here is, that if you think that no body cares or no body listens, go right ahead. In view of the recent SP, I think it's a pretty fair statement that MS is listening and does care. However, if you choose not to add any items to the Wish List, fine. Just don't gripe about what doesn't make it into the next SP or release. You really won't be in any position to do so, since you haven't let your wishes be known.
