>Greetings,

>I was wondering if it is possible to run a VFP program in character mode and have it load and run within the original council that I start the program up in. I am trying to run a VFP program through a telnet session over the internet. I can initiate the program, but I cannot view or control it because it has openned up in another window other than the original council. Is there a way to remedy this? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean run VFP from a character console context? VFP's interface is not designed to let it work as a console application; I've not even had great success getting VFP to accept input to the command window via a redirected STDID pipe.

You could use VFP through a product like PCAnywhere over an Internet connection (I do this all the time to access my office from home.) Symantec's PC Anywhere version 9.0 has specific enhancements that improve the security and performance of such connections; I'd recommend using that as opposed to a telnet session.
