I am trying to make sure I head down the best path. I am using VFP 6 and we have four warehouses that are all connected via TCP/IP over a frame relay network, minimal bandwith and fairly slow ping rates (90 to 180ms).

I have several apps using VFP and want to run a client / server situation. Currently they run stand alone and FTP the tables weekly to keep the unit updated. I was considering using MS SQL Server, does any one recommend this solution or another?

One more twist, is some of the users are sales people that currrently take their laptop in the field and would need to use the 'central' data in an offline envirement.

Any thoughts or directions you have had sucess will would be great to hear about.
