Label Alignment in Win98

All labels in an application are subclassed with the following properties set:

Alignment = 0 (Left/Default)
FontName = MS San Serif
FontSize = 8
BackStyle = 0 - Transparent

Development has been done on NT WorkStation 4/SP3.

On a data input GUI, a label will precede a textbox (Name: [ ]). All textboxes are placed so that they line up on the left. The labels are aligned so that their colons are lined up (aligned to the right).

In alpha testing with Windows 98, the label positions are skewed (similiar to what happens when Autosize is used with Right Alignment).

Any ideas?!?? Do I have to redo all of the GUIs on a 98 box? I've already experienced issues with labels not being transparent when they are supposed to. Are there more undocumented/documented bugs with labels?

Any input is appreciated. This app is deadlined for the end of August.

TIA
