Thanks for your quick response.

It had been deleted and packed. Currently, I am only showing three records in this file:
System record:
CoreManager: DBCXMgr.vcx
Visual FoxExpress: cVFEMGR.VCX.

There must be something else hanging around! Because the installation routines for SDT instruct one to copy over the VFE DBCXMgr and I didn't know how to get the VFE dbcxmgr back, I reinstalled VFE so it *would* be OK. But I don't know how to confirm that. (On the reinstall I elected to copy over all existing files when prompted.) I have also temporarily renamed the Stonfield installaion directory to zStonefield so that if there were any pointers back to it I would get errors that it couldn't find the file and maybe these would be helpful in determining what's wrong. However, I never got any errors running VFE after the rename.

Any other suggestions?

>In the metadata dicrectory of your VFE ap there is a file DBCXReg.dbf... Open it in VFP and delete the record for SDT, then pack the file. That should keep DBCX from instanitaing SDT as a manager.
