Hi Barbara:

>I still don't understand why you are concerned about your application classes are in containers. Personally I find this approach very useful as I CAN drop the container onto forms, pages, etc. at will. Keep in mind that your container class will be IN a vcx file, just like your individual control classes. It's not a matter of 'container or vcx'.

I am not actually concerned about developing my application classes in containers per-se. I just has a misguided notion that you developed app classes on forms. I can see the usefullness of using containers for the reasons you mention above. They can be dropped on any other container. As a result of your advice, I am now happy that a container is an acceptable route for developing application classes. I am studying the Codemine framework. It has a superb data manager class in which business rules and validation can be encapsulated. If I develop my application classes in containers and, given that the data manager class can be subclassed and used on other forms, these combined approaches will make for good reuse and speedy development.

I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to explain your view on this question.

Very many thanks!
