I'm looking closely at this right now (I'm about to buy one myself). Projectors are no more bulky than panels and they can be put in a pilot case. 3M are very expensive. Sony/Sharp/Phillips I've found are the best value. There isn't much between most of the makes overall. Bulb life is an issue as these are normally about 10% of the price.
