I see that the others have given you the solution to your problem. Just in case you are interested in the reason this makes the grid go blank, it is because packing the table closes it and effectively rips the grid's recordSource out from under it causing the grid to lose it mind (g).

Setting the grid's recordSource to the empty string before resetting it, gives it something to play with and, as my friend Andy Kramek, puts it, is akin to ripping the table cloth out from under a fully set table without losing any of the dishes.
