Did you make the ChechBox the current control for the grid column? This property is under the data tab. When I use checkboxes in grids, I generally use graphical style CheckBoxes (you'll find the style property for the checkbox under the layout tab of the property sheet) and set the column's sparse property to False. I think it just looks better.
Keep in mind that if you are using a RecordSourceType of SQL, the grid is ReadOnly. If you want to delete records, the easiest thing to do will be to go the Paramerized view route.
