As Ed hinted at the problem is most likely to be the printer driver.
Worse for you, getting the latest printer driver is no guarantee of
a fix. As with some HP drivers, you will find quite often that some
drivers are best avoided in any of their revisions.
What you may want to do is see what Epson compatibility your Panasonic
printer has. In the same way that all laser printers are compatible
with a certain HP LaserJet or a specific PCL level, all dot matrix
printers have an Epson compatibility level which you will find about
in the printer's manual. Once you have found it, use the driver for
the equivalent Epson printer and see if that gets rid of your problems.
