Hi John,
If you did a full install of VFP, then try this:
set help to \vfp\ctrlhelp\ctrlref.hlp
help mscomm
There are some expamples there also, unfourtunatly they are Visual Basic oriented. :( After you have looked at this, if it doesn't help, I'll post some simple examples to get you started.
