What techniques are available (or are they) for creating a report that needs to have discreet 'sections' on it - that is, different detail areas with vastly different layout, data, groupings, etc. from other parts - yet all on the same report? I'm talking stuff too complex too 'fake it' using UNIONed cursors, etc.

I remember one language (4th Dimension i think) that allowed you to create independant 'band layouts' as stand alone entities and then print them whenever you wanted, in whatever order you wanted. You had to handle calculations, page feeds, etc. manually in a loop, but at least layout/design was easy. Nothing like that in VFP eh?
