Are you saying that the PC has not yet reached the same level as the
mainframe industry where if the App requests an immediate WRITE, the
O/S responds by requesting an immediate write, there is no controller
level way of requesting an immediate controller WRITE ?

I don't know about Win95/98 but NetWare has the ability to instruct
an immediate write, and Adaptec controllers definitely have the
facility to provide an immediate WRITE, so ...?
