I'm mostly a lurker but this really thread interests me,

1983 BS in Accounting and Computer Infomation Systems

Allways a PC guy Started a Dbase II -> Dbase III-> Clipper Summer "87" I think -> (my boss at the time showed my the amazing speed of the fox and never looked back -> Foxbase+ -> FoxPro 1.0 -> FoxPro 1.2 -> FoxPro 2.0 (and patch of the week) -> FoxPro 2.6 -> Windows 2.6 -> VFP 3.0 (Codebook) -> VFP 5.0a,b - VFP 6.0 sp3

1983 - Osborne One portable 64k two floppies dbase II 2.3d in the silver folder
I used to bring it to college for a database admin course that was the most fun I think I ever had with PC's (at least in college) we had 2 IBM pc's with dbase II on them and the line was out the door to use them I should have charged for people to use my pc !!!

Best line from my PC life was about 3-4 years (summer 1986 or 1987) out of school I went to a head- hunter to look for a job and he told me PC's were dead and I should go and get a real job I asked him what was a real job he said IBM Mainframe COBOL (yuk!!!)

Needless to say never took him up on his job offers and NEVER looked back
