I tend to use macro substitution when a table name or a variable name is stored in another variable. I have also used them with SQL statements when they are stored in a table. I also am new to macros but I have found so far that they are very powerful and can be very helpful. And until you can get the hang of them they can give you a headache. I hoped this helps a little.
