I am in the process of converting my 3.0 application to 5.0. My parent company has a 3.0 application that will not be converted to 5.0 until later this summer. My application needs to read-write to their data files (3.0 format). I can't open their 3.0 data files from my application unless I first open their dbc from within 5.0 foxpro command window. Then my application accesses the dbc fine; however, the 3.0 application displays an error message that "Can't locate database for xTable..." (keeps displaying this message even though I locate the correct dbc).

What is the appropriate way to run 5.0 and 3.0 apps on the SAME computer (and please don't tell me that I need to wait until they upgrade or that I have to use ODBC). How does 3.0 apps recognize\treat 5.0 tables and vice-versa?
