Are you also using Ken Levys TreeView speedup trick. I believe the idea was to lock the screen, then move the treeview of the screen by using negative numbers for top and left. Then, after the code that builds the treeview is done move the treeview back to its previous position and unlock the screen.

I think I saw this tip on the classx tip page, but if that is where I saw it, I can't find it now.
