NO ... NO ... Don't do anything as drastic as implementing a DBC. I think you and I think alike on this topic. I jumped in with both feet with this DBC on my first project. I found that my hands were tied in too many situations which should have been simple. My second project was to re-do my first project and get rid of the DBC and use FREE TABLES. What a relief it is to have rid myself of that. It is a nice idea and I think it will be great soon but not yet.
