Does anyone know a way to find the version of Excel a file was created in? I am trying to trap for the version so I can do an APPEND FROM without getting a GPF. The APPEND FROM function gives the choice of XLS, XL5 and XL8. If I can determine the version, I can use the right syntax. Thanks.
