Robert,

Check out the DBCC CHECKIDENT command. I was able to reset the identity using DBCC CHECKIDENT(table, RESEED, newvalue). It will return what the current value was (althought it say that it 'is') and the low value for the table. If you DBCC CHECKIDENT(table) you'll see that the value has been reset.

BTW, You're running 7.0 right?
