Pamela,

You can search the KB from the MSDN CD that comes with VS/VFP. I did a search on "view source" and got a few hits. Here's part of one that might help Q154168 .

MORE INFORMATION
Note that the behavior described in this article may also occur if you are using Novell NetWare and the NetWare drive mappings overwrite the path. When this occurs, you may receive no error message, or you may receive an error message similar to:

Cannot find the C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Cache3\.htm
file. Do you want to create a new one?

Clicking OK opens a blank instance of Notepad.
To work around this behavior, copy the Notepad.exe file to the folder containing Internet Explorer.

NetWare is manufactured by Novell, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.

I have IE5 and FrontPage97 on this machine and they add a bunch of stuff. But you might poke around in the registry checking the .htm, .html and htmlfile entries to see if they give any hints.

>>It should be there in the Windows folder. I have no idea why else you get this error. Have you tried a MSKB search?<

>No, every time I go in there without and article number I don't do very well, but I probably try that next. I have put this out several places and no one seems to have experienced the problem except you (and clearly your problem and mine are different) It's some stupid little thing. I an scheduled to get a new computer soon, so I think I will just live with it for the moment unless someone comes up with a quick and easy fix. I am not about to reinstall my software from the ground up for this problem this week.
