VB6 introduced the Data Report Designer and you can create reports within the IDE. It is not as glitzy as Crystal but it supports hierarchical data commands. It has grouping and other standard report writing features. It is added to the project similar to a form - right click on project and add 'data form'. It has properties and methods and a DataReport tab is added to the toolbox that contains controls specific to reports. Check MS help on 'data report' for further info.
