Juan,
There is no limit to the number of records in a table, only that the file size of the dbf cannot exceed 2 Gigabytes.
I've worked with tables that contain over a million records with compound indexes consisting of up to 10 fields and have had them perform like a gem. Indexing, reindexing and packing, however, take longer with more records.
