I'd say that it's completely bogus, since there were some demos at DevCon on VFP7.

OTOH, VFP is not a server backend, although you can write COM servers with it. It an application development language with a strong internal file-oriented database, not a backend server product.

My guess is that your Mac consultant doesn't understand the product, so he isn't comparing equivalent things.
