I seem to remember seeing an ad somewhere for a FP-based POS system, but I don't remember anything about it, or even where I saw it (probably FPA). Are you willing to use a standard cash register with polling to the backoffice PC? I have software for polling Micros 1700 or 2700 cash registers from the PC (either directly connected to the register or remotely via modem). Also Omron cash registers (altho this module is not fleshed out as well as the Micros'). Possibly in the works is a module for Micros 2400.
The only "downside" to the polling is that it is still an FPDOS app (ouch!! Don't everyone jump on me all at once!! < g >), but it works great as a DOS app ... so what the heck.
Most likely, I can easily modify things to interface to your inventory control software, or you could even directly access the .dbf files if you preferred.
Let me know if you're interested. I don't know the cost of the hardware, but I can give you the name of a Micros dealer in your area (I have a very old list, but it still should be good). Also, if you are interested, I'll email you the price of my software.

>We have an order entry/inventory control program that is written in VFP for a Novell Network. Now we would like to include a point-of-sale computer on the network that includes a cash drawer, bar code reader, and receipt printer.
