Could you not issue CURSORSETPROP("tableupdate",.f.,"whateverthetableis") this should turn off the tableupdate etc, then when you need to update it simply turn this back on and issue the =TABLEUPDATE(.t.) clause??

Just wondering as we use manual table updates and never let the view do it itself..
