Hi Nick,

I respectfully disagree that Chatter is a good category for this:

1) It is definitely *not* "chatter" - each will have a common 'theme' which is the discussion of a possible wish to ultimately be forwarded to the UT Wish List (and possibly the MS Wishline).

2) Though of a common theme, each will be related to a distinctly different area of VFP. As we have already seen, some feel that such a discussion (in the absence of a category for "Wish Discussion") belongs within the existing category most closely related to the objective of the wish. So this also suggests that "Chatter" is not viewed as a 'good' place for such discussion as well as resulting in a general dispersal of such discussion throughout the categories of UT.

3) A few folks here take exception to this kind of discussion and have indicated that they would not participate. A separate category makes it much easier for those people to operate as they prefer.

4) Thread titles are of limited length and the length gets even more problematic in "Map" lists. Having to use up 16 characters is not only wasteful but also bothersome, not to mention forcing the real intent to be even more summarized.

5) We have a few categories that are very lightly used right now. At worst, what is the problem with another one?

This will be my last public request on this issue. It continues to mystify me as to why this simple suggestion is consistently disregarded. Do you think that, if I found one in the new VFP foxforum.com, it would help to make it a reality here????

Regards,

Jim N

>>The title says it all, the purpose being to discuss (possible) Wish List items, preferably to make them more complete but also to suggest terminating any that may be deemed "problematic" for some sensible reason(s).
