When one previews a report with the Report Generator, does zooming the previewed output cause the report generator to rebuild the report (as opposed to just doing some graphical magic to change its size on the monitor).

I have a UDF which I run on exit from a group. The UDF modifies the state of a table. Because of this, I was able to notice that each time I zoomed the preview, the UDF would execute. The only reason I can come up with for this is that zooming causes the report generator to repeat the process of building the preview image from the table input.

In my case, repeated execution of the UDF (which is likely, since the zoom feature is likely to be of use to the end user) is undesirable, so I must think of a different way to get what I want, which is not a problem.

Still, for future reference, I'd like to know for sure if what I suspect about the report generator is true.
