I had a lot of problems with this. I can give you a kludge answer, I hope someone else can come up with the "correct" way to do it.

After you use a view, immediate issue a command that require VFP to process all the records recieved. Like, GO TOP or INDEX ON.

That way program execution will pause until its done accessing the table.
