>After applying the published .ESL patch for fpw26, an initial CLOSE/IGNORE? error that was appearing at application startup on a fast (300-400mhz) CPU Win98 went away. However, a NOT ENOUGH MEMORY problem with an application screen using EDIT display boxes came up. I modified the screen to use regular SHOW objects instead. That tested ok on my 233 mhz Win95 development environment, but (inconsistently) generates a mysterious error message entitled "WATCOM win386".

Howie, on the "Watcom win386" try this: find where (in windows) your hardware acceleration is defined. It is probably set to maximum. First, turn hardware acceleration off completely and run like that for a week. That should fix the problem. This has to be done on the client workstation. It worked for me at a client site.
