Well... My other business is a co-owner of a travel agency, and my guess is that the hot climate/summer thing is to get lower room rates at times when the hotel has lower occupancy... I do agree that Palm Springs in June would normally be crazy, but even though it was hot, this year was nothing compared to a 'normal' June (110+ in the shade...)
