After reading this entire thread as of this post, I vote that this was a good thread. :)

Up front, I also read Dan's clarification/correction. Thanks for that. Thank you to Steven Black for his clarification as well.

Every few months, the sysops go through an e-mail debate on whether a particular thread should be killed or not. After all reason comes back to our heads, we generally do not kill a thread because of Jim Booth's point about exposing fools for who they are.

The SysOps are monitoring the threads, but we can not possibly read everything. When we see flaming or other serious infractions, we usually handle the problem through e-mail instead of with replies to posts.
