vfp6 sp3

I'm in a procedure. I do CTRL F or (right mouse menu select) and up comes the Find and Replace dialog as expected. No problem.

I do the same thing in a Form Method and it unceremoniously ejects me not just from the method, but from the whole form losing any changes on the way.
I posted a plea about this problem a couple of months back and no one had a good answer though I got a few suggestions. I'm getting desperate now. Having finally got the point of putting all your code into the form, not being able to edit in friendly fashion is becoming a serious obstacle.
