Hi Kenneth,
Cannot comment on your general thrust, but in regards to "which causes a button to be greyed out unless the mouse is over it" and "the button has no border or bevel until the mouse passes over it, and then it "turns into" a button", these sound a lot like the IE 'buttons' to me.
Is MS breaking its own GUI standard, or is it making a new one????
Cheers,
Jim N

If I'm not mistaken, this is a fundamental violation of GUI design. Also it had a feature that the button has no border or bevel until the mouse passes over it, and then it "turns into" a button. Seemed kind of pointless.
