Mike, your advice was 100% perfect. Running sp_help_revdatase made all the difference. I successfully copied all the data from the production server to the development server. Now I'm confident that if we lose that server, we can bring the other one online as a temporary replacement.

I use VFP as my front end. It runs a little app on the file server that checks to see if the DSN is correct and modifies it if neccessary. I can change the server name and IP address specified in that app, and the user's application will connect to the other server.

Our databases are tiny. The backup takes 2 minutes to run a log backup, and 30 minutes to run a full backup. I'm thinking about setting up the schedule to do a full backup every night and 4 log backups during the day. Does that sound reasonable to you?

Thanks again,

Ross
