Craig -
I was searching for similar information and found your reply. However, the person I spoke with at Crystal Reports was sort of nebulous in telling me whether or not my version (6.0) or in fact the current version (7.0) could print RTF text. I also found the following at the Seagatesoftware website in their knowledgebase:
"A 'Text' field from MS SQL Server, that contains data in RTF (Rich Text Format), is reporting as a path or odd data instead of the true
database value.
For example,
Sample RTF text from the database is displaying on a report like this:
{\rtf1\ansi\deff0\deftab720{\fonnttbl
Solution
Currently, Seagate Crystal Reports does not support recognition of RTF
type database fields in ANY database type. We have sent in enhancement
requests on this issue before, and the developers are aware that this
would be a great feature, but it would be a huge undertaking from a
programming perspective. "
What do you make of this, or is this another issue?
Thanks,
Sylvia
