I've read the entired thread, I think my txteval in File Section does what you want exactly!

txteval allow you to input any expression even using (),{} or some maths function....

The thm. is using two controls, when the actually control gotfocus,
invisible it and visible my txteval to enter formula, when lostfocus on
txteval, it will trigger to visible value and give back the eval result.

So, you don't afraid your actually control got unexpected behaviour with other coding in same control!

Besides, txteval can en-wide the width of textbox from original size by wanted multiples. Default for this is 3.
