>Just got a call from a client who says that when he runs the SETUP (native VFP3b setup) from the floppies I sent him, at some random point during the procedure green lines (horiz. and vertical) begin appearing on the screen. Eventually it gets bad enough that you can't read the prompts. Many times, but not all, the PC will spontaneously hard-boot.

There were a number of problems in SP4 related to video drivers; he might try applying SP5. You can also have him try running NT under the default NT VGA drivers (it's an option provided by the NT Boot Manager at system startup; if the problem doesn't occur under the default VGA driver, then I think the source will be pinpointed petty conclusively, and if the instlal does work under the standard VGA driver, the problem may not recur when running the app.
