>Thank's for your input. I pretty much agree with you, and with your doubts about the new product. The only thing that could make it possible is that the old system is so convoluted that at this point a re-write with intelligent tools would probably be easier than maintaining the current product. As for the custom programming, we have to deal with that every time a build release comes out. What is your SBT involvement?

I am SBT's worst nightmare, an intellegent end user. {grin}.

I work for a manufacturing firm where we use SBT & TIW. I write the custom code that creates a true ERP system between the 2 products. SBT & ERP they have to be kidding!

I am taking a Pro 3 install that was based on a build that SBT chose not to remember {their tech support says that they don't support that one}, and bring it to Pro5. We have lots of custom code to help our staff in areas that SBT chose not to fulfill. Bill of Lading is what I'm trying to finish today. Packing slips, Open order reports, shipping labels, Returned goods, re-works, work order tickets, STOP! I'll just go on and on with this nightmare.

Because we are a manufacturing firm we build our products, so an open order report has to define what level of production each item is currently at. I don't know if the SBT Open Order report goes into ship to address level? I have rules of freight with some of my customers. They will wait till they have a minimum order of 5 or 10 pieces before they will allow us to ship to them. Now we are getting charged back from one BIG customer for shipping too soon. I have to tell shipping dept that for this customers ship to address they cannot ship for 2 or 3 more days. The charge back was totaled up over the cource of a few months and grew to 75,000

That same customer just went and filed bankruptcy so getting that 75k put back on the books and getting paid for it is going to be tough.

On a positive note I do recommend SBT to some people. For the end users it's not bad. One of my users has her password as JOKE, fully displaying her confidence in the system.
